Distance Learning at GISW

Thanks to our very flexible faculty, our GISW students were able to complete their studies of the 2019/20 school year according to the syllabus in all grade levels, including subjects that are not considered core. Not only did we switch to online learning within two workdays of closing the school buildings, we also had our students follow their complete daily schedule from home every week through the end of the school year. It was not easy, but everyone did their best and we all got through it together. In the Fall of 2020, we were able to hold in-person classes for eight weeks in form of a hybrid model where most classes were split in two and alternated weekly attending in-person and via distance learning.

Our preschool program is running in small cohorts. One group with 2-year-olds and four groups with 3-4-year-olds. Everyone is wearing a mask and we are spending as much time outdoors as possible.

The German International School Washington D.C. stays in touch with its alumni around the globe and is very proud of their achievements.
