NEW - starting in January 2021, 'Lesezirkel' for adults! Registration will open in December 2020. For more information, click here.

We are pleased to announce that starting in January we will offer a 'Lesezirkel' (Reading Group) Café in Berlin for adults (17 and older) with basic knowledge of the German language.

Café in Berlin by Andre Klein

Are your ready for a lighthearted, humorous story at the end of a long day? If you have basic knowledge of German, you’ll love diving into Café in Berlin. Join our new “Lesezirkel” as we follow Dino, a young Sicilian who is trying to study German and find work in the unfamiliar urban lifestyle of Germany’s capital. In this course, you will learn about daily life in Berlin, Germany and its people, and improve your German along the way!

Each chapter comes with a vocabulary list, high frequency word combinations, and expressions. We will work on improving reading comprehension, situational grammar and vocabulary building.

According to author Andre Klein, “this book is designed to help beginners make the leap from reading isolated words and phrases to reading (and enjoying) naturally flowing narrative in German.”

Join Stephie in Dino’s footsteps via zoom platform, supported by google slides and/or Power Point.

Registration will open in December on our website at https://giswashington.org/registration.html

PLEASE NOTE: If you are planning to register for this course, please remember to choose the 'Deposit only' option at check out or select to
'Pay by Check'!
