Request for Volunteers

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our lives and the community, we are making plans to keep the school community safe upon reopening.  The GISW is following the current CDC guidelines for social distancing, wearing masks, and taking daily temperatures.  There will be three temperature screening stations on campus, strategically located in front of the main doors, on the sidewalk leading to the Elementary school and in front of the gate leading to the preschool playground.  All students will be required to have their temperature checked at one of the three temperature stations prior to entering the school. Employees self-screen.

In order for this undertaking to be successful, we are asking for volunteers to help take temperatures and/or direct student flow at the screening stations.  All volunteers will be provided personal protective equipment (PPE) and trained to take temperatures quickly and safely. It should take about 30 minutes of your time in the morning (estimating between 7:45am-8:15am).  If you only want to help for 15 minutes, we would love that too!!

While we are working on the reopening plan and don’t know yet for certain yet when we will be on campus again, we are preparing ourselves to be ready to open on August 20, 2020.

Please consider volunteering for this task! Volunteers are needed to ensure that all students and staff are checked in a timely and organized manner.

If you would like to volunteer, please email and include the days of the week and times you are available to help.

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and I look forward to seeing you all soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and happy!
