Saint Martin's Festival

This year's St. Martin's Festival at the Elementary School of the German International School Washington D.C. was once again a great success, captivating numerous children and adults alike. The event took place as part of a Lantern Festival, attracting a large number of participants.

A particular highlight was the appearance of the beautiful horse Magnus from the Hunt View Riding Academy. The children were enthralled by this majestic animal, creating a magical atmosphere.

The musical accompaniment was provided by the Adult and Children's Choirs as well as the string ensemble. The ensemble's melodies enchanted the attendees and contributed to the festive atmosphere.

The entire event was marked by beautiful lanterns designed by our students, transforming the grounds into a sea of lights. All attendees listened eagerly to the magical story of St. Martin.

At the end of the festival, the children were rewarded with delicious "Weckmänner" (sweet bread figures), generously donated by the FRIENDS association. This sweet gesture contributed to making the conclusion of the St. Martin's Festival even more festive. Many thanks!

A warm thank you also goes to all the diligent helpers who contributed to the success of the event. Without their support, this celebration would not have been possible.

The success of this St. Martin's Festival already has us looking forward to next year with anticipation. The positive experiences and festive atmosphere will surely remain in our memories for a long time.

The organizing team,

Tanja Helms and Marlen Ascencio
