First Day of School:
For School Entry Level (5-year-olds) and Grade 2 through 12: Thursday, August 20th, 2026
For Preschool and first Grade: Monday, August 24th, 2026

60th Anniversary Celebration: Live-Stream
On October 23, 2021, the German International School Washington D.C. (DSW/GISW) celebrated its 60th Anniversary both in-person on the Chateau Drive campus and online through a live YouTube stream. It was a memorable event with notable guest speakers in a formal program followed by a reception. Many thanks to all who contributed to the success of this event, especially our student speakers and musical performers and to those who attended in person or virtually from all over the world.
