The Audubon Naturalist Society was very happy to visit the SES and first grade students today! We learned about different kinds of pollinators (not just bees!) and what plants need to grow during an activity with real beans, pretend soil, flowers and bees. Then the students got a chance to plant real seeds that will be a part of the new pollinator garden at GISW! There were dill, parsley and zinnia seeds, so there will be pretty flowers and food for caterpillars. They will be back in May to meet our older students and to start working outside!
