Elementary School: Day of the Book

Dear Parents of the Elementary School (SEL through 4th Grade),

The Day of the Book will be celebrated at the Elementary School (SEL - 4th grade) on Thursday, April 2, 2020. We are grateful that this event is financially supported by the Friends of the German International School. We invited the author Mr. Daryl Cobb who will be reading excerpts from two of his books and sign them afterwards.

This will be our seventeenth celebration of the Day of the Book in the Elementary School. If you are interested in buying a copy of one of our author’s books and have him later sign it, please purchase one through the many venues available, e.g. Amazon.com.

We would also like to tell you about our annual book fair in connection with the Day of the Book at this time. Surplus children’s books from the library will be sold during this event. Please give your child small change to purchase some of those books which are priced $ 0.10, $ 0.25 and $ 0.50. Every year this is one of the highlights of the fair, since children have few opportunities to buy something independently in the Washington area.

We will remind you shortly before the upcoming event on April 2 via the Wednesday Mail and prompt you to pack one of the author’s books in case you purchased a copy for your child.

We are all looking forward to Mr. Daryl Cobb’s visit.

Ingrid Wrausmann and Ursula Eberhard
