Dear Parents of the Elementary School (SEL through Grade 4),
The Day of the Book will be celebrated at the SES and the Elementary School on Thursday, April 26, 2018. This will be our fifteenth celebration of the Day of the Book in the Elementary School. We are grateful that this event is financially supported by the Friends of the German International School Washington D.C.. We have again chosen a popular theme for our event this year that will excite all of our students. We invited the author Ms.Terry Catasus Jennings who will be reading excerpts from one of her books and sign it afterwards. The book titled “Sounds of the Savanna” has eye catching illustrations and is one of her most popular.
If you are interested please purchase a copy of one of the books in a store or online and have the author later sign it. At this website you can get her books at a discounted price: Terrycjennings.com
We would also like to tell you about our annual book fair in connection with the Day of the Book at this time. Discarded and surplus children’s books from the library will be sold during this event. Please give your child small change to purchase some of those books which are priced $ 0.10, $ 0.25 and $ 0.50. Every year this is one of the highlights of the fair, since children have few opportunities to buy something independently in the Washington environment.
We will remind you shortly before the upcoming event on April 26 via the Wednesday Mail and prompt you to pack one of the author’s books in case you purchased a copy for your child.
We are all looking forward to Ms. Terry Catasus Jennings’ visit.
