gategroup x GISW Alumni Networking Event
We would like to express gratitude to our partner gategroup and their dedicated team for their generous sponsorship of our first annual gategroup x GISW Alumni Networking Event which took place on Wednesday, April 10th here on our campus in Potomac, Maryland. Current and former GISW students, teachers, staff, and board members, as well as representatives from the diplomatic and business communities gathered on a beautiful spring evening to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, to welcome our graduating seniors as our newest alumni, and to enjoy a wonderful array of international foods provided by gategroup’s Chef Lopez.
In addition to being our first large alumni gathering, this networking barbeque served as a fundraiser for our GISW Annual Giving Campaign benefiting the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Fund to help our school nurture a Weltoffen community that values diversity, embraces inclusion, and promotes a global mindset. We would like to thank gategroup for their support in making this evening possible and for partnering with us in this endeavor to grow and strengthen our school’s alumni network.
We would also like to recognize Verified Wines & Spirits as well as Dacha Beer Gardens for their in-kind donation of wine and beer for the event. A special shoutout also goes to our 10th and 11th grade student volunteers who gave of their time to serve food and drink to our guests and to all those involved in the planning and execution. We look forward to welcoming many more alumni back to campus next spring for our 2nd annual GISW Alumni Networking Event, which we hope to make an annual school tradition.
