For School Entry Level (5-year-olds) and Grade 2 through 12: Thursday, August 20th, 2026
For Preschool and first Grade: Monday, August 24th, 2026

Informational Event for Parents of our Fourth Graders
Dear parents,
We are in the midst of planning the school year 2018/19, when your child will enter grade 5.
At the German International School Washington D.C., our students graduate with the U.S. High School Diploma as well as the German International Abitur, called DIA. For a degree after tenth grade, we also offer the curriculum of the Intermediate Secondary School (Realschule). We would like to provide you with information about the educational possibilities at our school during a special meeting for parents of children currently in 4th grade.
Another topic will be the transition from Elementary School to 5th grade and how you can support your child during that time. All fifth grade teachers will present the curricula of their subjects.
