Campus tours will resume once the new school year begins on August 20. We would be delighted to welcome you for a private tour. Please contact admissions@giswashington.org to schedule your visit.
First Day of School:
For School Entry Level (5-year-olds) and Grade 2 through 12: Thursday, August 20th, 2026
For Preschool and first Grade: Monday, August 24th, 2026

Invitation
to celebrate the First Day of School
for our First Graders
on August 27, 2018
at 9:00 am
Dear Parents,
We cordially invite you to celebrate your child’s First Day of School on August 27nd, 2018 in front of the GISW Elementary School.The celebration starts at 9:00 am and will last for about 45 minutes. In case of rain the event will take place in the auditorium of the main building.
Afterwards, the homeroom teachers will lead their students to their classrooms and hold their “first lesson”. Meanwhile, we will offer coffee and cookies for the parents in the cafeteria. Parents will be asked to enter their child’s name into the provided bus list. You can also drop off your child’s schoolbooks, so that her/his backpack is not too heavy to carry. Please write your child’s name in the books and store all in a sturdy bag (please label the bag with her/his name). Your child can leave the pencil case in her/his backpack. We will take the bags into your child’s classroom.
At 10:45 am, after the first lesson, we will take a class picture in the recess area.
At 11:00 am, the first day of school will be over for our new first graders.
We are all looking forward to this special day!
