Liebe Schulgemeinschaft,

Vielen Dank noch einmal für Ihre Geduld und Ihr Verständnis!
“Laterne, Laterne, Sonne, Mond und Sterne”
That was one of the songs that one could hear from the sea of glowing lanterns on Friday, November 10, 2017.
Following the German tradition kids and parents of the Preschool, the Elementary School, the Orientation Level and the German Language Courses (GLC) along with guests, celebrated the Saint Martin’s Festival. After a beautiful, song-filled lantern walk everybody gathered at the soccer field of the Elementary School. There the story of Saint Martin was authentically acted out, Mary K. being Sankt Martin on her horse and Emma I. played the beggar. Afterwards, mulled wine and a variety of snacks and other drinks were offered and families stayed for a while to chat and enjoy the merry evening.
This beautiful and memorable festival would have never been possible without the many helping hands. A big thank-you to all our wonderful volunteers! We especially want to thank the Friends of the German International School for donating the German version of Gingerbread Men (Weckmänner) which was a very tasty surprise after the lantern walk. Also we want to thank the musicians for creating the wonderful atmosphere and family Kray for bringing their horse.
It is great to see so many visitors every year and to ring in the holiday season with this event.
Thank you and hopefully we will see you again next year,
Your Elementary School Team
