Dear School Community,
It’s that time of year again: TheHealth and Safety committee with the support of volunteers will be conducting parking lot-safety days on October 25 and 26, 2016.
Why do we do this? The goal of this activity is goal is to improve traffic safety for all our children in the parking lot. Along with student and teacher volunteers we want to remind all drivers of our parking lot rules. Some of the new families may not be aware of these rules yet. Please click here to read them: Parking and Traffic Rules
In this context, we would also like to point out that it can not only be extremely dangerous to leave a child under the age of eight unsupervised in a vehicle, but it is also against Maryland law. If for some reason you feel that you are not able to take your child with you, you need to organize a person who is at least 13 years of age to supervise the child during your absence. The safety and well-being of all children is our priority.
Being locked alone in a car is also a possibly life-threating situation for animals. Please remember not to bring pets to school grounds.
With best wishes for your health and safety,
