Montgomery County Schools decided to open late today, therefore the GISW is running on Plan B.
- Classes start at 9:55 am.
- Morning buses pick up students later and follow the Plan B bus schedule.
- Afternoon Program and Extended Care take place as scheduled.
- All afternoon and evening events take place as scheduled.
Please be aware that in the event of worsening conditions, Montgomery County's decision regarding school closures may be reevaluated at 7 am, possibly resulting in a full-day closure.

Preschool: Field Trip to Glen Echo Aquarium & Park
On our field trip to Glen Echo Aquarium & Parks, our curious GISW preschoolers were fully engaged in learning about the fascinating fish and sea creatures of the Chesapeake Bay - the largest estuary in the country and home to a diverse array of aquatic life, including fish, crabs, and oysters.
In addition to exploring the bay's rich ecosystem, our young learners were also introduced to the water cycle - the natural process by which water moves through various forms, from evaporation to precipitation and seeping into the ground.
It has been wonderful to see our preschoolers show such enthusiasm and attentiveness as they absorb interesting information about the flora and fauna of our local area. It is rewarding to see their joy as we nurture their curiosity and encourage them to explore the world around them.
