Dear Parents,
UNSECO established the World Book Day on April 26, 1995 to be celebrated annually as a worldwide holiday celebrating reading books at home and in school. In order to get children interested in enjoying children's books, the activities around World Book Day are of particular importance.
Therefore, we have two activities planned at the Preschool for the World Book Day. On April 11th 2018 at 9:30 am, we will have a reading festival in our Preschool. Each teacher presents a picture book to all children in our main hall, introducing all children to different picture books and authors. They can then choose which book they would like to look at and which book they like to be read to. Each child can go to any of the Preschool groups. To make it really cozy, we will have juice and a small snack.
On April 26, 2018, we will have a picture exhibition in our Preschool starting at 8 am. In the week before the exhibition, the Preschool teachers will read a popular children’s book in their respective groups, and talk about the story in the book with the children. We will also provide a variety of painting materials like colored pencils, markers, paint brushes and paint colors, paper etc. to the children. The children are encouraged to paint a picture of what they like best in the story and can give their imagination free reign. You are cordially invited to look at the pictures of your children about the story they listened to. The finished paintings are exhibited in front of the home rooms of your classroom group.
Each group will receive a picture book as a reward after the exhibition.
We look forward to the participation of all children and the ideas and thoughts that they will express in their piece of art.
Best regards,
Your Preschool Team
