A horse, a soldier, a beggar and a stream of light from colorful lanterns surrounded the Elementary School soccer field on November 11, 2016. In remembrance of Saint Martin, the children of the Preschool, Elementary School, the German Language School as well as the students in the orientation level celebrated this annual festival.
We thank all helpers for their support and aid in creating this wonderful fest.
An extra thank-you goes out to Pam Keeney, our Human Resource manager, and her daughter, Morgan, for the horse and the reenactment of Saint Martin. Our student Ella C. played a convincing beggar and brought the story to life.
A great thank-you also to the Friends of the German School for donating the German version of Gingerbread Men (“Weckmänner”). The kids (and adults) could hardly wait to receive their surprise at the end of the parade.
Another thank-you goes out to Dr. Brown, Ms. Linnenbrink and Mr. Weinhardt for the musical support and the reading of the story.
The 11th graders served a spread of culinary options.
The parade ended in front of the Elementary School with mulled wine and a cheerful disposition.
It is great to see so many visitors every year and to ring in the holiday season with this event.
Thank you and hopefully we will see you again next year,
Your Elementary School Team
