Sponsoring a GISW bench
Dear Parents,
The benches in the outdoor area have served us well and it is time to replace them and purchase some new ones. The new benches are made of polywood and will last more than ten years. Each bench costs $460.00 (including shipping and handling). You can see the benches here. Individual families can purchase a bench or groups can jointly purchase a bench. Each bench will have a plaque as a thank you for your donation. We suggest including the names of the children and their class year. Please note that space is limited on the plaque and limit the number of names to eight per bench.
If you would like to donate a bench with a plaque, please contact Jennifer Precht directly (jprecht@giswashington.org). We need a total of six benches, which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Contributions toward the purchase of a bench can be made online via the 60th Legacy Campaign donation page. Please be sure to indicate that your contribution is designated for the “Green Space” and include a note that the funds should be allocated towards the purchase of a bench for the school garden or brick walkway. Also, please let us know in the Notes section which names and which school year you would like to have on the plaque (see example below):

We would like to buy 1 bench together with the Longstocking, Durchdenwald and Nachtnebel families. We would like these names to be on the plaque:
- Bärbel Durchdenwald, 2025
- Pippi Longstocking, 2035
- Zappel-Philipp, 2033
- Sabine Nachtnebel, 2030
If families would like to purchase a bench together, payment can either be made by a single member on behalf of the group who collects the funds from the others, or each contributing member can pay their portion online. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Jennifer Precht with questions.
