Student Reports: Sponsored Run

Sponsored Run at the GISW

On Thursday, May 24th, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. a sponsored run took place. I sat on the edge of the soccer field and watched everything. For 15 minutes I myself was running among the 4th graders Every grade participated. While each class ran, wonderful music was played.

The class that was running, was split into groups. Every teacher was in charge of one group and had to count the rounds each student was running.

At some point there was the dancing griffin to encourage the children. Often times children that were not running would stick out their hand so that the runners could give them a high-five.

If you were hot, there was a misting tent to cool off. Every child did their best and at the end we all had great results!

The whole Elementary School, all grades ran for 10 to 15 minutes at the sponsored run that day.

Since we were last, we watched all of the other grades run. Mrs. Scholl and Mrs. Lair-Ferrari played the music. The other teachers had 4 to 5 assigned kids to count how many laps they ran. Mrs. Osiander counted my laps. To make us laugh while we were running the school mascot, the griffin, was dancing her heart out. Mrs. Lair-Ferrari joined the mascot.

There was also a very nice misting tent to cool off.  At the end, we 4th graders spend a lot of time under it. It was a really fun day!
