Campus Tours:
Campus tours will resume once the new school year begins on August 20. We would be delighted to welcome you for a private tour. Please contact admissions@giswashington.org to schedule your visit.
First Day of School:
For School Entry Level (5-year-olds) and Grade 2 through 12: Thursday, August 20th, 2026
For Preschool and first Grade: Monday, August 24th, 2026

Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2017/18 school year at the German International School Washington D.C.!
I wish you and your children a successful start into the new school year. If you are new at our school, today’s Welcome Night is the perfect opportunity to meet teachers, staff and other families. If you are a returning family, you have the chance to re-connect with old friends and swap stories about your summer adventures. Please do not hesitate to approach our teachers and staff with any questions. They are happy to help!
