The Day of the Book will be celebrated at the Elementary School (School Entry Level through Grade 4) on Thursday, June 1, 2023. We invited the well-known children's book author Jennifer O’Connell who will be reading from her book and sign it afterwards.
The title of her book is “Elephants Remember” and it tells the remarkable and moving true story of a herd of wild elephants and the man they came to trust. If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book and have the author later sign it, please purchase one through the many venues available.
In connection with the Day of the Book we will also have activities and a book flea market. Discarded and surplus children’s books from the library will be sold during this event. Please give your child small change to purchase some of the books which are priced $ 0.25 and $0.50.
We appreciate and thank for the financial support by the Friends of the German International School Washington D.C.
