Prototype BetterBin

The concept of the Better Bin garbage can is to produce a practical and self-sorting trash can that primarily serves to prevent errors in waste separation. Various sensors and their software integration will be necessary as well as solving the challenge of technical implementation of the self-propelled "Better Bin". After the garbage (residual waste, paper, plastic and possibly organic waste) has been detected, each form of waste is to be moved into its designated section of the bin. Areas of application are not only in the household, but also in public places, such as train stations or along streets. As soon as the bins are full, the person responsible for emptying them would receive an alert via cell phone.
