Scientist Congress of the 4th Grades
One of the highlights of the 4th grade science program is the annual congress at the conclusion of school unit, “water”.
After students have conducted guided experiments researching the properties of water, they are asked to work in teams to develop a practical solution for a water desalination plant. Their solution must meet several conditions: it should use the sun as an energy source, prepare drinking water for a village, be inexpensive and, if possible, also collect the salt for consumption or profit. Particularly creative solutions earn extra points.
The results are then presented with the help of self-made models and/or posters and evaluated according to certain criteria by a jury of students from the upper school who are interested in science.
Of course, there are also great prizes to be won!
