Afternoon Program 2026/27 - Registration

In grades 5 through 12 of GISW, we are proud to offer an engaging and diverse Afternoon & Enrichment Program taught by our dedicated GISW faculty and an external provider. This program is designed to spark curiosity, build new skills, and foster creativity beyond the traditional classroom setting.

Important Dates

  • Course Catalog available here: Course Catalog 2026/27
  • Registration closed on Wednesday, August 5 at 12 noon.
  • Program Start Date: Sept. 8, 2026 (the Day after Labor Day)
    (Note: From the first day of school until Labor Day, students will be supervised until 3:10 PM, but no afternoon courses will be held.)

What’s Offered?

Students in Grades 5–12 can choose from a wide variety of exciting afternoon and enrichment courses—from the arts and sciences to leadership and technology.

Registration Process

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. If registrations exceed available spots, a lottery system will be used.

Attendance & Pick-Up Policy

  • Registration for courses is optional, but students who have not been enrolled in the program, must be picked up by their parents by 1:40 pm.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory once you have registered for a course. Repeated absences or inappropriate behavior may result in expulsion from the course.
  • If your child will not be participating in the afternoon program on a given day, they must be picked up by 1:40 p.m. at the latest. Please notify the homeroom teacher and our receptionist, Martina Uhas, in writing in advance at muhas@giswashington.org. Please also notify the appropriate coordinator: for afternoon program courses, Dunja Baker at dbaker@giswashington.org; for remedial courses, Laura Walker at lwalker@giswashington.org.
