In order to assure the highest quality and promote development of the pedagogical concept, GISW established its Intellectual Enrichment Program. This is composed of individualized areas of focus and takes an interdisciplinary approach aimed at maximizing the potential of each student’s intellectual, technological and social skills. The courses are organized in modules and occur twice in the weekly schedules of grades 5 through 9.
Conceptually, each student participates in four modules during the school year and after about eight weeks in one course, usually changes to another one. Some courses are specially designed to promote language skills in German and English while others support gifted and talented students specifically in the STEM/MINT subjects. And some are especially helpful preparing interested students for science competitions, such as First Lego-League.
