Extracurricular STEM / MINT Program

The GISW offers a range of extracurricular science-focused activities, tailored to the individual interests of our students. Participating in clubs, class and school projects, as well as programs designed and led by external experts, students are able to greatly broaden the knowledge while strengthening their STEM/MINT education. These activities often include students of different ages as well as from different academic departments collaborating on the same program; among several benefits, this peer-to-peer learning fosters a mature sense of teamwork and collaborative research.

At off-campus events, rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons as students participate in initiatives with other schools, national academic institutions, science festivals, university research labs or at technical facilities in and around Washington D.C.

The GISW takes full and regular advantage of its location within one of the world’s premier science and technology communities.
