Marek Spak?

Marek Spak - Years at the German School: 2002/03 und 2005/06

1. What does your life look like today?

I currently work in two different areas. As CTO, I take care of the technical development of our news app NewsCase in Berlin and Goa. As Business Developer, it is my task to establish a basis here in New York for sales and distribution in the U.S. I am currently in New York but I fly back and forth between these three places.

2. What is your best memory of your time at the DSW?

Sixth and ninth grade at DSW were probably the best years of my time in school. I met a lot of friends back then whom I still friends with today.

3. What life lessons did you learn at DSW?

Thanks to my many stays in the U.S., among them my time at DSW, I was never afraid to travel and built something from scratch in another country. DSW certainly is one of the reasons, why I was picked as one out of four founding members to go to India in 2012 to build up our subsidiary.

4. What advice would you give to the new generation of DSW students?

I am not a big fan or Steve Jobs but will use one of his quotes: „Stay hungry, stay foolish“. DSW alumni have the privilege to be part of an educated, international community which can be helpful later in life. Keep in touch with other DSW students after you graduate and help each other out!
