Advanced Placement (AP) classes are part of the academic program at GISW:
In 11th grade, the German syllabi in Physics and German are at such a high academic standard that they are considered to be at AP level. The students are well prepared to take the AP exams upon completing these regular classes. The AP exams are offered at the German International School Washington D.C.. The German syllabus in the subject English is close to the AP level, however, to prepare for the AP test students need to take an additional weekly 2 hour class to cover all the material for the AP exam.
