PLAN B (MCPS Code Yellow)

Montgomery County Schools decided to open late today, therefore the GISW is running on Plan B.
- Classes start at 9:55 am.
- Morning buses pick up students later and follow the Plan B bus schedule.
- Afternoon Program and Extended Care take place as scheduled.
- All afternoon and evening events take place as scheduled.

Nachdem Montgomery County heute einen verspäteten Unterrichtsbeginn beschlossen hat gilt an der GISW Plan B.
- Der Unterricht beginnt um 9:55 Uhr.
- Die Schulbusse fahren morgens später und folgen dem Plan B Buszeitplan.
- Das Nachmittagsprogramm und die Spätbetreuung finden statt.
- Alle Nachmittags- und Abendveranstaltungen finden statt.
AP Courses & Exams
Advanced Placement (AP) classes are part of the academic program at GISW:
11th grade
In 11th grade, the German syllabi in Physics and German are at such a high academic standard that they are considered to be at AP level. The students are well prepared to take the AP exams upon completing these regular classes. The AP exams are offered at the German International School Washington D.C.. The German syllabus in the subject English is close to the AP level, however, to prepare for the AP test students need to take an additional weekly 2 hour class to cover all the material for the AP exam.
12th grade
In 12th grade, the German curricula in Physics, German, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, French, and Spanish are at such a high academic standard that they are considered to be at AP level. The students are well prepared to take the AP exams upon completing these regular classes. The AP exams are offered at GISWl. The German curriculum in the subject English is close to the AP level, but students need to take an additional weekly 2 hour class to cover all instruction to prepare for the AP exam.
