Our school has experienced water damage due to a water main break in the neighborhood. Preschool, SEL, and grades 5–12 are operating as usual.
IMPORTANT: The elementary school building is currently being restored to a usable condition; therefore, we are unfortunately unable to offer regular classes or supervision for grades 1–4.
Please keep your children in grades 1 to 4 at home on Friday, December 5.
The Newbees canceled the Newbees Breakfast.
We are closely monitoring the MCPS decision for Friday in case they announce a delayed start due to the weather.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

Bright eyes, curious questions, and countless “aha” moments – that’s the best way to describe the 21st Children’s University. Our 39 fourth graders had the chance to experience the fascinating world of science up close for an entire day.
In the three subject areas of physics, chemistry, and biology, the young researchers discovered plenty to marvel at: amazing experiments, exciting hands-on activities, and fascinating observations that sparked wonder. The mix of theory, practice, and fun made the event an unforgettable experience.
A special highlight for the children: from now on, they will regularly explore NaWi (Natural Sciences) in class themselves – every two weeks for two lessons!
A heartfelt thank-you goes to the dedicated teachers of the upper school – Ms. Colopy, Mr. Fingerle and Mr. Helldorf – who made this day possible with their great commitment. And one very special highlight: the appearance of Gecko Georgie, who inspired the children even more with his energy and charm.
Once again, this event showed just how exciting and lively science can be – and how much joy discovery brings!
