Traffic Education

Learning how to stay safe, understanding traffic rules, and gaining practical experience: This school year, traffic education at our Elementary School is becoming even more hands-on!

Students in Grades 1–4 will have the opportunity to practice riding scooters and bicycles on a protected traffic course on our campus, learning how to navigate safely and independently in traffic.

For students in Grades 1 and 2, the focus is on scooters. They will practice balance, coordination, safe braking, staying in their lane, and reacting quickly to different situations.

In Grades 3 and 4, students will use both scooters and bicycles. They will practice starting and braking safely, riding around curves, staying in their lane, and navigating around obstacles. They will also learn how to respond appropriately to different traffic situations. The bicycle training will gradually prepare them for their bicycle license.

The goal is not competition, but rather to help every child build confidence and feel safer while meeting them at their individual level of experience.
