Campus Tours:
Campus tours will resume once the new school year begins on August 20. We would be delighted to welcome you for a private tour. Please contact admissions@giswashington.org to schedule your visit.
First Day of School:
For School Entry Level (5-year-olds) and Grade 2 through 12: Thursday, August 20th, 2026
For Preschool and first Grade: Monday, August 24th, 2026

Election of Board Members
As you may know the Board of Directors of the German School Society is looking to fill open positions on its Board during the rescheduled Membership Meeting on June 11, 2020.
All members of the school society who are interested in participating in the board are invited to contact the current board and to clarify all questions regarding the boards work in a phone call or by email. You can reach the board at vorstand@giswashington.org.
According to the German School Society’s by-laws, Board members are elected by the Membership for a three-year term. Board members are recruited by the Nomination Committee which can be reached at nominations2020@giswashington.org.
Currently, the Board has the following nine members: Mr. Eric Beck, Mr. Shumit Chanda, Mrs. Karen Dietrich, Mr. Dennis Fehr, Mrs. Antje Gellerich, Mrs. Anna Ordóñez, MD, M.A.S, Mr. Patrick McNulty, Mrs. Dagmar Tawil, Dr. Al Zeitoun.
