For School Entry Level (5-year-olds) and Grade 2 through 12: Thursday, August 20th, 2026
For Preschool and first Grade: Monday, August 24th, 2026

GISW Students have Thrilling Innovation Immersion
GISW students had the unique opportunity to experience innovation firsthand at the Makeathon in Germany. In late June under the experienced guidance of our STEM Coordinator, Steffi Colopy, and our Coordinator for Digital Learning Development, Paul Festl, and with the valuable support of University of Maryland graduate students from the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering and German experts, our students gained exciting insights into robotics, prototyping, and creative teamwork under pressure. This experience not only allowed them to apply technical knowledge in practice but also offered the chance to learn directly from aspiring engineers and to collaborate with them to bring innovative solutions to life.
