Next, the visit continued in our Makerspace, where the Makeathon team presented their project, developed in collaboration with the Gymnasium Höchstadt an der Aisch in Germany and the University of Maryland. The students are building a drone designed to clean solar panels so they not only look better but also function more efficiently.
The group then moved on to the science building, where twelfth-graders Josi and Amelie presented the Authentic STEM program. This was followed by a short introduction to the business project competition by Ms. Bankert and Ms. Lewe, offering further insight into the wide range of student initiatives at GISW.
Throughout the visit, Minister Prien was accompanied by the reporter team of our student newspaper, who were taking good notes. We are already looking forward to reading their article in one of the upcoming editions.
After a brief stop in the elementary school building, the visit unfortunately came to an end far too quickly. We would like to thank Minister Prien for her time and her genuine interest in our school community. It is always wonderful to see a political leader engage so thoughtfully with our students and their ideas.
