Shuttle Bus Service

Regulations that have been established by the Montgomery County Board of Appeals constitute that as of September 2009 it is unlawful to drive onto school grounds on Saturday mornings to drop off or pick up students. It is also unlawful to park anywhere on Chateau Drive in order to drop off or pick up students.
Therefore the GLC provides a convenient solution with a Shuttle Bus Service free of charge from the Bolger Center at 9600 Newbridge Dr., Potomac, MD 20854 to the German School and back. Parents and adult students without a parking permit need to sign up for the shuttle bus service! Students under the age of four have to be accompanied by a parent/guardian!

PLEASE NOTE: For everyone who has not signed up for the Shuttle Bus Service or a Parking Pass, the Shuttle bus is the default option! For both ways, to and from the school, you will be assigned to a specific bus, #1, 2, 3, or 4. Please make sure to ONLY take your assigned bus! In-person classes will start on January 26, 2022.

Chaperones: There will be NO chaperones on board. Chaperones will wait at the school bus stop for unaccompanied children age 4 to fourth grade and drop them off at their respective classes - vice versa at midday.

In the morning: Four yellow school busses from the German International School will leave the Bolger Center at 8:40 am and circle between the Bolger Center and the school.

At midday: The busses will leave the school at 11:40 am and circle between the school and the Bolger Center.

All students who have not been picked up at the Bolger Center by 12:00 pm will be returned to the GLC office. Parents will then be notified.

Parking Information

Our school is in a residential area, zoning laws apply and our neighbors have taken legal action to get relief from the increasing amount of traffic on Saturday mornings. Therefore, as of September 2009, we have to abide by new parking regulations in order to continue with our German language program at the German International School. The main commitment the school had to make is to disallow any pick-up or drop-off by cars not remaining (parking) on the school grounds during class, but rather to provide shuttle bus services from a remote location.

Please read the following Parking and Traffic Rules and Driver’s Guide GLC (Klicken Sie bitte hier für eine druckbare Version - nur in Englisch verfügbar):

Parking and Traffic Rules and Driver's Guide GLC

The purpose of the following Parking and Traffic Rules is to enable the safe and
disciplined use of the parking lot and considerate behavior on the parking lot and
